We saw this family of Emus in the Flinders Ranges near Wilpena Pound. I had stopped the car and caravan and entered the scrub with my camera . The chicks can run quite fast even though they have very short legs. I was able to follow them for about 10 mins until my memory card was full.
I love these photos! Those emu chicks are so cute!

Were they the ones we saw up in the Flinders Ranges, or on the Eyre Peninsula?

These photos are great. I love the emu chicks.
Thank you.
You are so lucky to have encountered such a magnificent animal. Their built, color and ostrich looking figure is fascinating. You have really great shots here. Thank you for sharing.
They are beautiful. I’m glad you liked them.

Thanks Miesha – nice to have you here!
So funny, I like them. The family love is same warm between animals.
Except in the emu world, the mum lays the eggs and then disappears…Dad sits on the egg and raises the chicks, while Mum is never seen again.
